Los bailables are celebrated at the end of the school year.  Each class learns a different traditional Mexican dance and performs it for parents, family, and friends.  Each student is presented with a certificate of completion for the year and is promoted to the next grade level.  Each student also has a padrino or madrina that sponsors the student’s celebration usually gifting something and helping with the celebration dinner after the bailable.  At the beginning of the ceremony, families are rushing around to find their seats,  the Mexican National Anthem is performed and the Mexican flag is passed from one class to the next.
